Trades make the world go 'round

And they make me annoyed, mad, tired, etc.

Dumb customers can kiss it.

I swear. There's the dikey one (I wouldn't put her as that title had she not been rude to me on more than one occasion). It's stated, that, when trading in a system, the 20 extra dollars is for STORE CREDIT. "Oh well since I'm trading in the system, I think we should at least get the 20 dollars on a gift card" You're not asking for store credit, you're asking for CASH. It would've just been the same if people were trading in for every 3 games the extra 10 dollars, they should get that 10 dollars on a gift card also if they're asking for cash. That 20 dollars is meant for an incentive NOT to get cash. Since you know, it's 20% LESS than store credit. A PSP trades in for $65, you bought it for almost $200. And then you want cash. WOULDN'T you want the extra 20 bucks. If you want more money, just sell it on EBAY.

PS3. Quit hoping you're going to get one. Quit thinking you actually want one. Sure, it's going to have badass graphics. SURE it's going to have BlueRay technology. The fact that only 1 out of every 4 works, wouldn't that tip someone off not to even consider getting the system until they work out the kinks? Look at the 360, there are rarely any problems now (except for the idiots who stand their 360 vertical instead of laying down. SURE it looks more sleek and pretty standing up, but wouldn't you much rather expand the life of your discs and system than for show?). The problems with the system were all a shipping problem with a certain shipment that there wasn't a particular part taken out that needed to be that burned up and caused the system to fry. And anyone's system who overheats, it's because they're letting the power supply WAY TOO CLOSE to the system and didn't get an intercooler for their 360. And the fact that the PS3 is $500 for a 20gig, and $600 for a 60gig, it's only the idiots who can't afford it and are willing to go broke for it. And think, you're going to be stupid not to get a warranty because when the system breaks (and I can guarantee you it will) and you didn't spend the extra $100 for the warranty (because I can guarantee you it WILL be that much, considering the XBOX360's is only $40 and it's $399 for the premium system), you're fucked because the manufacturer's going to be too busy trying to replace the ones who were willing to spend the extra money to get a warranty. And stores won't have one to replace your system with.

Newbie and the Beast

In my head I cheer. I'm no longer the newbie in my store.

I have made my way up into the store chain. Instead of being a measly Game Advisor making a sad salary of $5.20/h, I am now a Store Game Advisor making $6/h. Sure, it's not much of a pay, but the fact it was an 80 cent raise makes it more appealing.

Tonight (last night) as I was waiting for 9 to roll around, starting about 8:30 some quite familiar faces started rolling in. (Besides my 2 friends who were picking on me for my performance in Tetris on the day of the Wii preorders.) These faces were the ones I had seen for days on end. The eager 16 year olds who wanted a job at Gamestop. Who came in asking when our store manager had begun looking at applications. What upsets me is he's pretty much hired every kid who applied. Well not every, but most. One, being the girl who had brought in a brown recluse spider. This is 9 new employees. I'm no longer the one who doesn't know anything. Who doesn't know how the store works.

I've made myself known, or at least I've tried. Anytime I call EB Games in the mall, I pick on the workers there because I've met almost everyone of them (Minus the Pancho guy, but he knows me as the girl who tells him to get to work). I've made my way through and now am above the ones who are there now (meaning the new ones, not the coworkers I have had, because they have been there longer). It's been almost a year, and it's almost hard to believe a year ago this month I had barely just discovered Gamestop. And now I'm working there.

All I gotta say for the newbies is...watch out. You may have applied here for the discount, or the fact its a gamestore, but it's not going to be easy. If I find one game out of place, and find out it was you who put it there, there will be hell to pay. OKAY not really, but it's going to be fun scaring them.

And yet

Summer's almost over, I've accomplished nothing.

Hung out with friends. More now than before. Gone to concerts left and right. Not to mention Breaking Benjamin and Tool are coming up.

My manager picks on me like there's no tomorrow. Seems like I'm the easiest to pick on.

The internet cafe is moving around the corner from my house so that should be fun. My coworker wants me to work there (for free might I add: would include free internet time which I have HERE at home, and XBOX time) as to attract more gamer guys I guess. If it's going to be in the pharmacy center around the corner from my house I think it'd have no problem getting customers. Maybe yes, maybe no.

Birthday coming up Monday, what'll I be doing? A whole day of Dead Like Me with Dah-V and dinner with my friend Shea. Exciting day, suuuure.

Hangover

Listening to: Goo Goo Dolls - Let Love In
Current thoughts: "OMFG why did I do that"
Mood: Crap

Seriously...I feel as if I have a hangover, yet I didn't have the alcohol to do it. Toma and Yes both know what happened tonight/last night. I think I was 2 bottles away from OD'ing from Bawls, seriously...3 is my limit as of this point. I'm here with a headache, my stomach hurting, feeling like I want to throw up as if I have an alcohol hangover. I don't want to go to sleep, I can't go to sleep. But my eyes are heavy...

And I have work today! MAN that's gonna be interesting.

4th of July kinda sucked, until I hung out with DahV and the other guys. Played me some Titan Quest. That game makes me cry...seriously. Almost like my friend's crying 4 times during the Superman Returns movie.

I'm tired of everyone wondering if I'm okay. I'm k. It's a breakup, not the end of the world. Yet everyone who wonders that won't be reading this, so I guess I'm throwing that out to no one in particular. Everyone being worried. My older sister, Josuf, Dahv, and anyone else. Sure at the beginning I was pretty torn up, and that was only 2 days ago. But I'm fine now. Well as fine as I will be, I'm not going to be over that for a while. And my sister's already trying to get me to think about "rebound" I don't think so

On with the Old, In with the NEW

So seeing as how Gamestop bought out EB Games we had to combine systems sooner or later. Later seemeingly was a day ago and I walked in on it today.

Why is the change affecting me? I've only been there a few months. Because:
1. My store manager said as he hired me on "We bought out another company, and we will soon be merging ways together. This change won't affect you because you haven't been working here for very long. And one of the main things in working in a business is learning to accept change" Mind you he told me this on my second week of working. So I got accustomed to what I was used to doing, and once my mind is set on one thing it's like a dog "Can't teach an old dog new tricks" No I'm not old, but I'm sure as heck not getting the new stuff.
2. We had a good computer system. WHY CHANGE IT? Sure there were a few things that were old school and could've been fixed. EX: Paper credits, logs (for trades, and returns). But go change a system and have no training beforehand, stupid. Even managers aren't understanding it. I taught MY manager a thing today. SHIFT+TAB (accidently telling my boss SHIT plus tab, he didn't like that very much). F2 used to conclude a sale, now it's F12 and F2 is void. I probably almost voided a transaction at least 10 times today. Yeah I nearly cried by the end of the day, I teared up.

As one of my managers is trying to catch me up on the new system, this lady is pissed off because
1. Gil is looking for a credit that was lost.
2. Matt is teaching me how to do a transaction and give discounts.
SO the lady gets pissed and tells her kid "Look lets go, we'll come back another time, they're taking TOO LONG!" Matt said "FUCK HER, you need to learn this, they'll just have to deal with however long it takes"

I get visited by 3 different people at almost 5 minute intervals. First Frank, then Jams, then mom and Savanna. James I could handle, of course, once I got the reservations under control. Just as James was getting finished, Frank walks in. James leaves, and Savanna runs up to his car. Then mom and Savanna walk in, start picking on Frank which is hard enough on me because I can't multitask/hear stuff. So Savanna's telling me "GET ME MY DS LITE" and I'm like "STFU" but not saying it. I said "HOLD ON Frank's gotta be helped first" So I get Frank. Then I forget to give him 5 dollars because everything going on I can't think of what I'm doing. A guy comes in as I'm on the floor looking for a box, and asks me about a DS Lite powercord. I tell him I don't know if we have any, and what does Savanna do "OH they have some!" BULLCRAP. So I HAD to tell the guy (which is what I was going to do anyway, before she decided to open her mouth) "I'll go check in the back" I went in the back and punched a chair. It was getting to me more and more. So I walk back out, told the guy "Sorry no, but maybe check with another EB Games, or go to Best Buy. The system's new so they're (Nintendo) not going to be having any cords out because they aren't expecting people to lose their cords or have a dog chew through them anytime soon".

Luckily the day passed by quick. By the time I checked my numbers (Which LUCKILY now that we have IPTS knocked out of our ranking all I have to worry about is subs and reservations now) it was 8:40. We close at 9.

DAY 1 knocked down, going for DAY 2 which lets hope I survive.

I doubt I'll be making top 10 in the district for the week again anytime soon. I'm weak with Subs. I can get reservations fine...What made me top 10 was my IPTS which now THOSE are gone I have to worry DOUBLE for the subs. I can only count on myself now to probably bring the group down...

SORRY this was so long...needed to vent

Hello long-lost friend

As I read blogs from people (Toma, Lemonator, Imokwiththat) I start realizing I do miss these blogs.

I guess I don't write LJ's because nobody reads them anymore, or at least the people I don't want to read them. Then again when I'm in a bad mood I post on there to make sure certain people don't read them. My myspace blog has turned into a picture blog because I don't like getting personal on there about what's going on because someone reads (mom).

Guess what I'm trying to say is, I wish I could write here, but I feel everything is insignificant. Everyone posts about how productive their summer is, or their job hunting, I on the other hand have nothing.

I graduated. I have a job that I've had since February (Gamestop). I got a DS Lite in hopes of unboring myself with a brighter screen. My graduation party passed meaning I now have nothing to look forward to except the always-talked-about trip to San Antonio for a few days, or a trip to Nashville. Bowling For Soup is in 7 days. I've been trying to visit the pool across the street from my house as much as I can. I keep myself busy with friends if I can find someone who's not busy.

1. I wish I had my license to drive my car.
2. I wish I wasn't afraid to drive during the day.

There are games I'm looking forward to, but no operating system to play them on. Titan Quest being the 'games'. My computer won't be able to handle that game, and my mom won't leave the laptop with me. Age of Empires 3 is too advance for my computer. It doesn't meet minimum requirements. How sad is that.

I think blogs were just a phase. I used to post in them like I ate dinner. 3 times a day even more. Now I realize I haven't even written in any blogs like I used to. I used to post like 3 a day on myspace, now I don't really post once a week.

Work today. Whoo

I now work at gamestop. Maybe one of 2 girls now that one girl got fired for always coming in late. It's cool. Hectic first day though. LoL my manager said when inventory gets checked next i can borrow some psp games. That means Savanna letting me use her psp. Like that'll ever happen
